Highway 7 construction begins April 14
Traffic will be detoured
WILLMAR, Minn. - Construction on Highway 7, from Silver Lake to St. Bonifacius, is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 14.
Traffic will be detoured on Highway 7 east to Highway 22, south to Highway 212, east to Highway 5, east to Highway 41, and north to Highway 7. The detour adds nine miles of travel distance.
The project requires removing two inches of existing surface and resurfacing 22 miles of pavement. Also included is the construction of three passing lanes (one in McLeod County and two in Carver County), turn lanes at McLeod County Road 9 and two roundabouts at Highway 25 and Carver County Road 10.
During construction of the roundabout at Carver County Road 10, local traffic will be able to travel north-south on Highway 25. Major intersections at McLeod County Road 1, Carver County Road 33 and Carver County Road 92 will be open for north-south traffic.
The project is scheduled for completion by Nov. 15, weather permitting.
